The typical issues we are asked to manage include: postural problems related to pregnancy or work; back pain, repetitive strain, sports injuries, pain due to arthritis and unsettled babies and toddlers.
Pain Management
Osteopaths diagnose and treat painful joints and muscles using massage, mobilisation and manipulation techniques, the aims being to improve movement, ease muscle spasm and enhance blood supply.
Corrective and therapeutic exercises are also prescribed to address faulty movement patterns that have been adopted in the presence of pain. These encourage relaxation and a return to normal function.
Sports Injury Management
We can help you to recover from injury, resolve postural issues that may be contributing to the injury and pain and improve movement efficiency to prevent recurrence.
We use manual therapy and rehabilitation exercises to help with injury recovery. Rehab and corrective exercise prescription ensure that you re-train properly, reducing the risk of re-injury on your return to sport.
Mum's and Babies Perinatal Clinic
Including Infant Feeding Advisory Service
We offer a gentle supportive approach using Cranio-sacral therapy to help you through your pregnancy and birth and after as well as after the little one has been born.
Kathy is FEDANT accredited and offers an infant feeding advisory service She also offers crania-sacral therapy for those little ones who might be having some difficulties settling into the world, be it sleeplessness, teething or just generally unsettled.
Treatments
We offer consultation and treatment services that last an hour and between 30 and 45 minutes respectively. We also offer massage services with an osteopathic bias for those requiring 'maintenance' without any specific issues.
